About me

My name is Sian and I am a BABCP accredited integrative psychotherapist with 15 years experience working in mental health. I specialise in treating a range of issues, including Anxiety, OCD, Low Self-Esteem, Social Anxiety, Specific Phobia, Depression, Body Dysmorphia Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Panic Disorder and Health Anxiety. I understand that each individual's journey is unique and will tailor treatment to suit you. It is important for me to create a safe, compassionate and supportive environment for you to explore your concerns, develop effective coping strategies and find healing and growth.

I have a special interest in working with those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. I welcome those from all gender expressions and those who practice relationships alternative to traditional monogamy. You will not have to worry about having to educate or explain yourself to me in order to be understood in our sessions.

I also have a special interest in working with those who are looking for support with OCD. I understand the devastating impact on an individual of repetitive distressing intrusive thoughts. I have experience of working with OCD in many different presentations including the sub types of harm, religion, morality, sexuality, real event, false memory and relationships.

I understand how difficult it can be to open up to a stranger. There is no pressure to be able to explain exactly what you are struggling with - we can work this out together! I can offer you space to explore your difficulties and develop an understanding of how these may relate to your past, I can also work with you to develop practical coping skills.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Psychotherapist who specialises in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation  and Reprocessing). I am also a trained mental health nurse and worked in this field for many years before re-training a psychotherapist. I have experience of working with people who experience trauma, anxiety and depression. I have worked with a diverse range of people and I will adapt my practice to incorporate your own background, race, religion and beliefs into our treatment plan. I have a keen interest in working with those who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community and specialise in trauma, low self esteem, anxiety disorders and OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder).
