About me

Hello and a warm welcome!

I'm Shona. Together, we can untangle and make sense of your wellbeing and mental health worries. To have somebody deeply listen to you and validate your experiences can often make all the difference.

It probably doesn't feel like it right now, but you are the person who knows best what keeps you going, and what it is you really want and need. These we can explore and uncover together.

Counselling is very personal, but many people do find that over time it can make problems seem more manageable and help them to feel better about themselves.

Effective

As a qualified Counsellor and Applied Psychologist, I offer effective, specialist help for adults and older adults who are dealing with: anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement, health worries, difficult relationships, social challenges including neurodiversity, stress or workplace issues.

Safe

Starting counselling can be pretty daunting, even if you have tried it before. To reassure you, I offer a strictly confidential, non-judgemental, inclusive and safe space for you to work through your difficult experiences.

Convenient

We would usually start with weekly or fortnightly sessions, to suit you, and potentially spread them out as things improve. We can meet remotely or by phone for some or all sessions. I offer daytime and evening appointments.

Meeting with me, simply come as you are and be yourself. We will go at your pace. You are under no obligation to have a specific number of sessions, nor to continue if it does not feel helpful. Equally, there are no limitations in terms of a fixed number of sessions. If you feel the need for longer-term support, I can offer this.

Testimonial from a recent client: "Thank you for being so welcoming, warm and making such a safe space for me talk. You have been incredibly helpful."

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.
