About me

My name is Sharon. I am an accredited psychotherapist, running my private practice in Holmfirth. Previously working as a Samaritan, I found the work rewarding and desired to work with others at a more in-depth, personal level. This is what lead to my training as a therapist, and qualifying as a psychotherapist.

As an Integrative therapist, I believe that one glove does not fit all. We will explore the best way forward for you, to ensure psychological and emotional growth, therapy will be created for your individual needs, with a clarity of what you can expect to achieve. The path you wish to take towards fulfilment will be with me being there with you every step of the way.

I work with individuals to help them find a path that brings greater fulfillment to their lives. Whatever the issue, therapy provides a safe space for you to explore where you are in your life, how you got there, and how you can move forward. Many people seek help for a wide range of problems, you are not alone.

Making the first contact and even choosing to contact a therapist can be difficult. I understand it can be a daunting experience due to the number of therapies available, along with the uncertainty of which therapy will work best for you. If you have any questions or to book an appointment, please do get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Diploma in CBT
  • BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Inner Child Healing Diploma
  • Shadow Work Diploma
  • bacp Accreditation

I also work at a charity providing the community of Brighouse with counselling, where I work with a diverse range of clients and issues. Above all, I have immense life experience with a deep understanding of the difficulty’s life may bring. Accessing personal therapy was a life-changing experience for me and left me with such a belief in the therapeutic process that I went on to become a therapist to help others in achieving fulfilment.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
