About me
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Looking for a welcoming and comfortable place to talk, or, just to be how you really are? You have come to the right place.
Why therapy?
Are you feeling afraid? Alone? Depressed? Hopeless? Stuck? Limited? Discontented? Uneasy? Anxious? Worried? Out of control? Confused? Lost? Numb? Insecure? Doubtful? Critical? Stressed? Tensed? Angry? Struggling at work? In relationships? Difficult feelings or memories coming back from your past?
It is very hard and unsettling to be in this place, and understandably, you want therapy to help you 'fix' these feelings or problems to feel better. Still, I would encourage you to see these feelings as a very important compass, which is pointing to what you need to attentively listen to, and to understand first, about yourself or your situation before you can make meaningful long-lasting changes. For example, how your past might be affecting you in how you feel about the world, the people around you, and very importantly, yourself.
This is why in therapy with me, I aim to empower you to eventually become your 'own therapist', as you grow a solid understanding of what had contributed to your difficulties, and what you can do in the here-and-now to move towards a more positive direction in your life where you can thrive.
Why therapy with me?
Previous clients have used adjectives such as ‘warm’, ‘down to earth’, 'calm', ‘perceptive’ and ‘gentle but honest’ to describe me as a therapist. I believe that my emphasis on good personal self-care and development has enabled me to consistently offer the above qualities to my clients. A good fit between a client and a therapist is key. This is why I strongly encourage you to get in touch for a free initial conversation, to get a sense if we could work well together.
Further, having grown up and lived internationally (Hong Kong and Italy), and having travelled widely to many corners of the world (e.g. Ethiopia, Nigeria, Bahrain), I bring into the therapy space a deep sense of openness, curiosity and empathy to a wide range of ways in seeing and being in the world. In therapy, I do not only aim to help you work on the struggles that you are facing, but to help you recognise your unique personal story and strengths.
