About me

A warm welcome. I have had first hand experience of how transforming counselling can be, and I know the courage it can take to reach out for help. It can feel daunting choosing a counsellor to build a trusting and therapeutic relationship with. Yet taking those first steps towards counselling can also feel hopeful and empowering.

Many of us have built up protective layers, through difficult or traumatic experiences that keep the authentic and vulnerable self safe. Some of these experiences may be current, deeply buried or almost forgotten. Together, and at your pace, we can begin to explore the things you feel ready to share.

The heart of my counselling approach is person-centred, which means I offer warmth and empathy with a non-judgemental attitude. The counselling relationship is essential to enable trust, openness and honesty and I will deeply listen to you and endeavour to understand and relate to your unique experiences. Within this safe space, we can begin to make sense of your world and how you relate to yourself and others,  and discover how to make positive changes in your life.

I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor, registered with the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists). Integrative counselling means that I am comfortable working with different techniques and approaches to suit your individual needs and personal circumstances. This could be short term counselling, working towards specific goals, or embarking on a long term journey to explore something that you may not be able to put into words.

Sessions can be either face to face or online. I offer an initial free phone call. I have some spaces available at a reduced rate, please contact me for details.
If you are ready to take the next step towards counselling then please email or text me to arrange an initial phone call.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
