About me
A warm welcome.
Many of us have built up protective layers, through difficult or traumatic experiences that keep the vulnerable parts of us safe. Some of these experiences may be current, deeply buried or almost forgotten.
Together, and at your pace, we can begin to explore the things you feel ready to share.
I will deeply listen to you and endeavour to understand and relate to your unique experiences. Within this safe space, we can begin to make sense of your world and how you relate to yourself and others, and discover how to make positive changes in your life.
It can feel daunting choosing a counsellor to build a trusting and therapeutic relationship with. Yet taking those first steps towards counselling can also feel hopeful and empowering.
I work with many areas such as trauma, abuse, addictions, recovery, neurodivergence and high sensitivity, chronic health conditions, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, grief, loss, family and relationship issues.
I have lived experience of neurodivergence and work in a neuro-affirming way that advocates and celebrates difference, the uniqueness of each individuals lived experience and recognises diversity.
As well as face to face and online counselling, I offer walk and talk therapy for those that may find one on one sessions in an enclosed environment claustrophobic or create anxiety.
Working therapeutically in an open space can help our minds to feel freer to open up, as well as help with the mind body connection.
Being outdoors in nature can also feel grounding as well as release endorphins that can boost mood and create a sense of well-being.
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor, registered with the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists). Integrative counselling means that I am comfortable working with different techniques and approaches to suit your individual needs and personal circumstances.
This could be short term counselling, working towards specific goals, or embarking on a long term journey to explore something that you may not yet be able to put into words.
Some of the approaches I may use include working creatively, using imagery, working with the unconscious and with dreams.
If you are ready to take the next step towards counselling then please contact me to arrange an initial free consultation.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
