About me

Hi, I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist. I work with a wide range of difficulties that people may present with such as depression, OCD, PTSD, general anxiety, health anxiety, panic attacks, phobias and agoraphobia. I also work with insomnia; difficulties falling asleep, staying asleep and early morning waking. As a counselling psychologist I can work with a range of interpersonal issues, so this may be relationship difficulties, family issues, work stress or other life stressors.  It may be that you feel the need to talk through a particular issue or are having a difficult time in your life right now and need some support.

I have over ten years of experience in the NHS working with a range of difficulties and people from different backgrounds and ages. I have also worked for MIND in Bexley.

I work in a private practice offering a confidential, supportive and professional space for you to work through your issues.

I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Person Centred Therapy. I make use of Psycho-Dynamic thinking in my work, as appropriate. The approach we use will be based on the assessment and the concerns you present with.

I provide clinical supervision to qualified therapists and trainee therapists.  I am happy to provide supervision via Skype/Zoom.

I am also able to provide therapy for trainee therapists as per course requirements.

Further information

Before we arrange a face to face appointment I would like to speak with you briefly on the telephone to find out what you feel your main difficulties are and what your goals for therapy are. Alternatively, we can have this conversation via email.

We will then arrange an appointment if we both feel we can work together. Generally I am able to offer an appointment within a week.

You are welcome to ask any questions at this point or via email. I find it helpful for clients to feel able to share any concerns they have with me.

Please contact me on 07989 494816 or via my email address Sarvdeep.Virk@gmail.com to arrange a brief chat on the phone and arrange an appointment.

I am a recognised AXA PPP, AVIVA, WPA and PruHealth provider (if your insurance provider is not listed please contact me as often this requires a simple form for me to complete). I am also registered with a number of EAP schemes.

I am sorry but I do not take BUPA clients.

Accessibility

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
