About me

It can be very daunting to reach out to someone for help and I am happy that you have found the courage to do so.  When you get to a point where you no longer feel able to to cope with life or a situation, you can feel stuck, overwhelmed and lost.  It can be difficult to reach out to family and friends and life starts to seem very lonely.  I have been in this position myself and counselling provided me with the space to be heard, understood and accepted without me feeling like a burden.  This changed my life and created a passion within me to help others in the same way.

I believe that you are the expert of yourself and deep down, you have the power to become the best that you can possibly be.  I can help you to get to know yourself better and to untangle all the conflict that is getting in the way.  Throughout life, people pass their own values, judgements and advice onto us, which we begin to take on as our own without realising.  We believe things about ourselves that are not true and this can create confusion and uncertainty.  I want to help you to learn who you really are so that you can begin to live a happy and fulfilled life

I'm a BACP Registered Counsellor working with adults both in-person and online who may be experiencing issues around anxiety, bereavement, depression, feeling sad/low mood, loneliness, low self-confidence and low self-esteem, relationship problems and family issues.  I specialise in helping individuals who feel stuck in difficult relationships (partners, family, friends) or are trying to navigate life after leaving one of these relationships.  These issues can create feelings of hopelessness, isolation and a fear of the future.  I will sit beside you and help you to process what is going on so that you can begin to rebuild your strength and find a way forward.

I provide a free phone consultation where we can have a chat about your needs, what I can offer and to see if you feel I am the right counsellor for you.

What I can offer

I will provide a space in which to help you process thoughts and emotions and work out why you feel the way you do and what you can do about it. It is the place where you can be yourself without judgement or being given unhelpful advice. The place I will be there just for you in that moment, listening, understanding and caring. You no longer need to feel isolated and lonely with your struggles.

If you are unsure about counselling...

The thought of talking to someone about your very personal thoughts and feelings can be scary. I understand this and will be there alongside you while you go at your own pace. If you want to talk while I listen, that is fine. If you are not sure what to say, that is also fine. Everyone is different and I will aim to meet your own unique needs.

Counselling can take place in person, online or over the phone.

Please contact me with any questions by calling me on 07471 269 265 or send an email here.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
