Training, qualifications & experience

I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist and I see individual adults for therapy. I prefer to see people in person and my practice is 5 minutes from Great Portland Street tube. I can also see you on line when needed.

I am from London and I live and work here, so I understand the complexities of making a life in this busy city.

I started my therapy career as as a group therapist.  I have conducted  therapy  groups for the NHS and charities. I now offer group therapy from my practice and from the Marylebone Healing & Counselling Centre (HCC).

I am an ex-NHS Chief Executive. I trained with the Institute of Group Analysis to support people at work to make sense of complex, stressful  situations and stay well - usually through membership of a Reflective Practice Group. My organisational work website is TheWisdomIsInTheRoom.com.

I am the co-founder of RSF Therapy. We are a practice of psychodynamic psychotherapists with a wide range of expertise in relationship issues. We specialise in sex (psychosexual therapy) and fertility difficulties. We also work with people in the creative industry, via our programme Creative Minds.

I can always make time to talk so do email me for a conversation.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BPC
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

I work relationally, which means that I appreciate how important it is to feel safe and heard in therapy, and I follow your lead.

I work psychodynamically, which means I like to explore what formed your beliefs about yourself. I can offer you interpretations but I try not to offer advice.

I work in a way that is trauma-informed, which means I believe that overwhelming & unprocessed experiences remain in our bodies. I encourage my clients and patients to find a creative means of expression, for example journalling; and to use some form of exercise, however gently, to move emotion through the body.

I work with my therapy-partner, Gity who specialises in psychosexual and relationship (couples) therapy. Together we work with a team of our close colleagues who are holistic practitioners.
