About me

Hello I am Sana. I provide counselling and psychotherapy and work with a safe, non-judgemental approach. Life can be challenging and often difficult or traumatic experiences will leave us emotionally hurt. Therapy can help heal from past experiences which may be affecting your present life. Together, I will explore with you your historic past and make sense of the present. I strongly believe that sincere and respectful listening can help you make sense of your emotions and your difficult experiences.

I believe that working with an open, honest and empathic manner will enable you to understand your deeper issues and develop self-awareness and personal growth helping you live to the fullest. I work with a broad range of issues and work with you to make sense of your historic and present difficulties and emotions.

You are the master of your own situation and working alongside will enable understanding of what you want and make the right choices. I refrain from directing or giving advice and work together to help you process thoughts and feelings. My non-judgemental approach will give you the freedom to talk and share anything difficult without fear of being judged, which results in exploration and understanding of feelings as well as meeting goals or working towards desired changes for a healthier life. Every person is unique and I connect with each and every one of my clients because I believe in the importance of human connection and the power of empathy. Each person brings in a unique life story and experience and I incorporate different psychological theories suited to their individual needs.

Who can benefit from therapy

Therapy is for everyone. You do not need to be in the midst of crisis or suffer a mental health condition to be in therapy. You may chose to do this simply if you need help making a difficult decision. Therapy enables people to understand their inner and deeper rooted emotions and increases self-awareness, which can then help manage day to day stresses and worries of everyday life.

Healing is a journey, not a miracle or a destination. During therapy I will assist you in your journey and work with you to meet your desired goals, whatever they may be.

I am a member of the (BACP) British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their Ethical Framework and committed to sustaining and advancing good practice.

Training, qualifications & experience

I offer various therapies including Person-centred Therapy (PCT), Humanistic Approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, Transactional Analysis (TA), Existentionalism Therapy.

I use both counselling and psychotherapy techniques, depending on my clients' needs. The term counsellor is used when working with clients at a more immediate level, generally focussing on current life issues and challenges.
Psychotherapy is working at a deeper level helping you process historic events that are maybe impacting your experiences and life in the present.

I am also a volunteer counsellor and work with Hoarding and Addictions since 2019 - to date.

I offer Face to Face, Online and Telephone Counselling sessions. I am based in Berkshire, South East England. I offer short and long term therapy sessions.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
