About me
I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist working with clients face to face in Cheltenham and globally via zoom. I work with adults, providing a safe place for you to be heard. I believe the most important aspect of working with my clients is connection. If you feel connected to me then we can build a relationship based on trust which can lead to healing, growth and personal development.
I am trained in several aspects of counselling and I use the method I feel will work best with whatever is brought into the session. If you want to know why you feel anxious we can delve into your life in an attempt to find answers. If you want to know how to feel less anxious we can work together to find solutions that will work for you. If you are grieving we can work towards healing and acceptance. If you are angry we find ways to understand your behaviour and help you to be less angry. If you find it difficult to connect to others, or keep a relationship going we can look at the past, present or future in an attempt to help you move forward. I believe we all have the answers but sometimes need help to uncover them and make sense of how to use the answers effectively to change aspects of your life that could be working better for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been working as a psychotherapist for over 8 years in my private practice. I obtained a bachelor degree in Counselling and Human Change in Sydney, Australia. I have a diploma in Hypnotherapy and I am also an NLP Practitioner.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
