About us
The Rock Clinic Association (RCA), a registered charity established in 1990, is a collective of over 150 counsellors and psychotherapists. RCA practitioners provide a range of therapeutic approaches for the local, national and international community at low and affordable cost.
The Clinics also offer training placements for those studying on Level 7 training programmes or recently qualified in counselling and psychotherapy at postgraduate level.

All Clinics have facilities for individual psychological therapy and space for training and group work. There is full disabled access at Rock West and good disabled access at Rock East.
The Clinics are in operation during the week from 8am - 9pm Monday to Friday and on Saturday from 9am - 5pm. For details of our reception hours, please see our Contacts page. (address above).
The Clinic is aware that certain groups may have particular issues and experiences which require specialist understanding (please see our Equal Opportunity Policy). We are able to offer help to those from BAME, LGBTQ, young people (13+) and Third Age groups, as well as working age adults, and can deliver therapy in a range of languages.
We also offer Employee Assistance and Health Insurance work.
Training, qualifications & experience
The Rock Clinic was established in 1990, and has an excellent reputation locally with GP's, and NHS trusts all of whom regularly refer clients to the clinic. Self referral is also encouraged, and all clients are offered a half hour initial interview to discuss the kinds of problems they have been experiencing and what therapeutic approach might help.
Our therapists are registered with BACP, UKCP and BPC.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
