About me

"Rick's caring and insightful support each week helped me to cope with a very stressful and anxious period over several months and identify underlying patterns that were holding me back"

Hello and welcome. I'm Rick and my outlook towards therapy is uncomplicated: We explore your past to understand your present to make way for a better future.

Together, we'll untangle the complications of your history, straighten your story and encourage your self discovery. We go from arrested development to healthy living. We heal beyond our history.

I work in what’s called a psychodynamic way: Psycho = Mind. Dynamic = Movement. We do some movement of the mind…

My Method

Insightful Therapy: We work with some depth, uncovering patterns and emotions. Healing begins with insight and awareness. Together, we make the unconscious - conscious.

Compassion: I listen without judgement. My silence is your space. Your pain is our starting point. Therapy is our trusting relationship that we co-create and our relationship ultimately heals.

Virtual Appointments: Whether via video, text, or phone, I'm here with you. No office walls - just a healing connection, from one human being to another.

---

Healing Wisdom

Pain isn't the enemy; it's the catalyst. We come to therapy because we’re suffering. So instead of perpetuating our own suffering - Let's transform the suffering into growth. Because the only constant is change.

Trauma is buried, but it’s buried alive…

Healing is messy, uncomfortable and painful and we learn the most from our apparent failures. Together, we will navigate psychological wounds, unresolved conflicts and buried emotions. Enabling us to experience, resolve and accept reality. So we can move on.

Why Choose Rick?

Holistic Approach: Mind, body, soul, spirit and the symbolic, we address it all. Through our work together we come to see symptoms as manifestations of reactions to adversity and our work re-conceptualises and transcends these symptoms. Breakdowns are breakthroughs and our triggers are portals to accepting a deeper understanding of our true self.

I’m not as interested in knowing what's ‘wrong’ with you — as I am in taking the time to learn more about what happened to you and where you are hurting. Where you want to become unstuck and where in your life you want to progress.

Safe and Explorative Space: Vulnerability is our strength. Here, you are seen and heard. I’m really interested in helping you to discover your own personal meaning in your life experiences, memories, dreams, hopes and desires. You are so much more than your name, religion, job title, possessions, thoughts and opinions of others, including your family, and you are more than your adaptive self as a result of your history.

Maybe you’re not all you could be…

Maybe your not what happened to you and maybe your what you choose to become...

Ancient Insights, Modern Tools: Wisdom meets technology. This is traditional therapy through a modern platform. Freud meets FaceTime!

Your trusted ally: I’m not here to fix you, I walk beside you, not ahead. Healing is our shared journey.

Let's rewrite your story and discover your truth.

I look forward to meeting with you

Healing awaits…

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
