About me

You Are Welcome Here,

My Name is Rhys, I offer counselling sessions, both In-person and Online,  for adults (18+) experiencing the complexities of being human.

My fee is £48 and sessions are for one hour.

Seeking support is a natural part of being human; we're not meant to navigate everything in our lives on our own, and thankfully, nor do we have to.

What am I offering you?

Simply put; I offer a private, intentionally designed space for you to address, explore, and navigate through your life experiences. Within this bubble, your thoughts and feelings are welcomed and encouraged without judgment.

I work to:

  • Support you in feeling valued: I listen to you, to learn about you. From your hopes and fears, to what's going on in your life, I care to get to know you.
  • Invite you, through gentle inquiry,  to become more curious about yourself: I believe gentle curiosity is like medicine when applied in the right way. It's a way we can discover deeper truths about ourselves and become more connected to what feels true and right for us.
  • Believe in you: I do believe that WE ALL have the power to create the changes we wish to see in our lives and grow beyond the limitations of the past.  I therefore seek to support you in identifying limiting beliefs and feeling more empowered to create the changes you wish to see in your life.

The sessions are talking-based, with invitations to work with some creative exercises should they feel like something you would like to do.

You are also very welcome to bring your creative work into the sessions e.g. journals and artwork that we can explore together.

How do we begin our work together?

To start, I warmly invite you to reach out via email, and we can arrange a complimentary 30-minute call, either via Zoom or over the phone. This allows me to learn about what support you're seeking in your life, and it provides an opportunity for you to get a better sense of whether I feel like the right counsellor for you. We can explore any questions you may have during that time.

I'd be honoured to hold a space for you,

Rhys

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, a qualification approved by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

With a focus on adults (18+), I have experience holding a space for the exploration of a diverse range of challenges that are inherent in the human experience.

I currently work on a voluntary basis at a local charity that supports adults in accessing counselling support and very much enjoy the work.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
