About me

Hello and a warm welcome to my profile, I am Becky an Integrative counsellor based in Dorset, I have a therapy room in the market town of Sherborne, and also provide therapy sessions online and over the phone.

My Integrative approach means that I can draw from a range of theoretical approaches, for example humanistic, cognitive plus others, to tailor my approach depending on your needs.

I acknowledge individuality and aim to create a space where you feel safe to express yourself and your emotions.

If you are new to counselling or unsure about what to expect, please make contact and I will be happy to support you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a degree in Integrative Counselling which I studied with the University of Worcester, alongside this I have worked for the mental health charity Mind for numerous years, and also Cruse bereavement care. I have a wide experience working with adults, children and young people. I regularly complete additional training to add to my skills set, and to ensure I am working competently.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

As an Integrative therapist I draw from a range of theoretical approaches and tailor my skills to best suit your individual needs.

Providing a space that is not only comfortable and safe, but also where your feelings are validated, and the time is yours alone to be heard and valued.

Giving the opportunity to use different forms of communication from painting, poetry, emotion cards and many others, we work together to find what works for you, and of course it is ok not to use these methods too.

I hope to provide warmth and holding in a space where you can be you without judgement.
