About me

My name is Rachel and I am a qualified Integrative counsellor working with adults 18+.

Hello, thanks for taking the step to look at my profile, this may mean that you are currently having some struggles which are having an impact on your life. From personal experience, I know only too well how taking the step to seek personal therapy can be scary and anxiety inducing. I also appreciate how challenging it can be to talk to someone that you have never met before.

Often talking to someone that has no personal connections to you can seem daunting but talking to a counsellor can help you to make sense of your thoughts and feelings which may bring up emotions that may be overwhelming for you causing you to be ‘stuck’ in unhelpful patterns of behaviour.

Whatever you are feeling, you don’t have to go through it alone. Together, we can step into your world and explore whatever changes that you’d like to make. I want you to feel truly heard and understood.

How I work.

My approach is warm and empathic, giving you a calm and confidential environment to explore your world, leading to a greater awareness of yourself and ultimately self-acceptance. I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for you to express your thoughts and feelings all at your own pace.

You are the expert of your own life and I’ll take that journey with you as I get to know you. I will encourage and support you, every step of the way.

Everyone is different, so as a trained Integrative counsellor, I can use different therapeutic approaches to suit you as a unique individual. Along with my therapeutic approaches, I also bring my own life experiences and compassion borne out of my own therapeutic journey and experience. I often will incorporate visual and/or creative techniques as part of our session as long as it is welcomed and is in the clients best interests.

I offer long or short term face to face sessions on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis to suit you. The amount of sessions that you may require is completely up to you as some issues may need more sessions than others but together we can discuss this at your first session. Moving forward, we will do regular review sessions to check in with you how your sessions are progressing and if they are working for you. Of course, you are free to see how the first session goes and if you feel that I am the right person for you or not. You are in control and can end your sessions whenever you feel that you are ready to do so - I am completely guided by you.

Please do get in touch if now is the right time for you to begin a new chapter in your life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
