About me

Finding the therapist that is right for you might like a feel daunting prospect, especially at a time when you may be feeling vulnerable or uncertain, perhaps at a crossroads in your life. This is not unusual, whether this is the first time you have sought therapy or have taken therapy in the past. Sometimes we need help to overcome conflicts and blocks in our life that are confusing or difficult .

I understand that you are a unique and complex individual, with many facets and aspects that make you who you are, which impact on how you experience yourself, and how you have had to adapt to face life's struggles.

I work with individuals on both a short and long term basis to help free them from stress, anxiety, depression, low self- esteem and loss. I understand the way adverse childhood experiences impacts adult life and how trauma affects mind, body and soul and the complex ways a person tries to cope with these affects in order to cope and get through.

The essence of my work is to facilitate self -growth and self -compassion, as I know how hard it is to feel good about living when you are feeling so disenchanted with life. We all feel stuck sometimes and need a little help getting back on track. I want to support you by offering a confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a fully trained integrative psychotherapist and registered member of the National Counselling Society I work following as strict code of ethics ensuring client confidentiality.

Alongside my practical training I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Social Science and Counselling, have trained at Level 3 Diploma in Counselling and at Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. In addition I have studied with College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CCBT) and gained knowledge and skills in working with Self-acceptance (or Self-esteem). I am also a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) working with anxiety, panic and worry.

My main skill set and experience is working with issues such as anxiety, depression, self esteem, developmental and attachment based trauma and grief and bereavement. Additionally I have volunteered as a samaritan for over 4 years and have both experience, knowledge and understanding in working with those whose distress and despair is accompanied by suicidal thoughts.
