About me

Hello there and warm welcome to my profile. Where ever you find yourself in life, I welcome you, as you are. I offer a compassionate and safe space for unburdening, self-exploration and healing. I have over two decades' experience working with people experiencing difficulties in life and in search of change and peace.

My approach

Whether you seek to heal trauma, unburden yourself or maybe feel stuck in life or experience relationship difficulties - counselling can help. While rarely obvious from the outset, you already have the necessary guidance and potential for growth and healing within waiting to be revealed. One way of understanding therapy is to explore and remove that what holds you back from actualising yourself.

Counselling is always a personal journey, something I deeply honour. Contacting a therapist can feel daunting and evocative. This is a natural response. Looking within is often not easy as we are rarely taught to be open and vulnerable; yet exploring our own life can be the single greatest gift we give ourselves. I offer to you my companionship on the journey of self-discovery and healing.

Appointments

I offer a free initial consultation on telephone during which you are invited to share your hopes from counselling and areas you'd like to work on.

Sessions available in person and online.

Experience

Before becoming a therapist and a Social Worker, I worked in peace mediation for over a decade with people affected by violent conflicts. Alongside my private practice, I work as a prison counsellor across Surrey. My offering to you combines professional qualifications and lived experience, and in-depth explorations of the light and dark inherent to all of us. I offer a free initial consultation to see how we resonate with each other.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
