About me

Hello there, and warm welcome to my profile. I offer a compassionate and safe space for unburdening, self-exploration, and healing. I have over two decades' experience working with people experiencing difficulties in life and in search of change and peace.

My approach

Whether you seek to unburden yourself, explore difficulties in your life, or maybe address a specific type of anxiety (see below), therapy can help. While rarely obvious from the outset, you already have the necessary guidance and potential for growth and healing within waiting to be revealed. I am here to help you reconnect with it. One way of understanding therapy is to identify and start adjusting that what holds us back and is unhelpful for actualising our potential.

Therapy is always a private and personal journey, something I deeply honor. Contacting a therapist can often feel daunting. This is a natural response. Looking within is often not easy, as we are rarely taught to be open and vulnerable; yet exploring our own lives can be the single greatest gift we give ourselves. I offer you my companionship on the journey of self-discovery and healing.

Appointments

I offer a free initial consultation on the telephone during which you are invited to share your hopes from therapy and areas you'd like to work on.

Sessions available in person and online.

Experience

Before becoming a Psychotherapist, Counsellor, and a Social Worker, I worked in peace mediation for over a decade with people affected by violent conflicts. Alongside my private practice, I work as a CBT Psychotherapist for the NHS Talking Therapies. My offering to you combines professional qualifications and lived experience, and in-depth explorations of the light and dark inherent to all of us. I offer a free initial consultation to see how we resonate with each other.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BABCP
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
