About me
Hello, my name is Niki and I am a qualified Person Centred Counsellor working with adults, children and young people based in Birchington. I can also provide online sessions via zoom. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work to their ethical framework, which ensures I am working safely and to a high standard.
As a person centred counsellor I am dedicated to providing you with a safe and supportive space for personal growth and healing. I offer a range of services designed to help you overcome challenges, improve your mental well-being, and achieve a fulfilling life. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or simply seeking guidance in navigating life's complexities, I am here to lend a compassionate ear and provide evidence-based techniques to facilitate positive change. Together, we will explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, uncovering patterns and developing strategies for personal growth. My goal is to empower you to make meaningful choices, build resilience, and cultivate a sense of inner peace.
I work at 3 local primary schools providing support for children through creative media. Quite often children do not have the emotional vocabulary to express how they are feeling but providing them a space where they feel accepted for who they are, listened to and shown autonomy to be themselves can really support them identity what is going on for them.
Training, qualifications & experience
I began my journey into counselling 7 years ago after years of working in the care sector and with the general public. This is something I have always wanted to do and something I am very passionate about. I have the following qualifications and attended workshops.
- Level 2 Counselling skills certificate
- Level 3 Counselling studies certificate
- Level 4 Diploma in Person Centred Counselling
- Certificate online telephone counselling
- Place2be safeguarding training and introductory workshop working with children and young people.
- Level 5 diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling working with children and young people.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
