About me
Hello and welcome. My name is Nicola and I am a UK- fully qualified and registered Integrative Counsellor BA (Hons) (MBACP)
What this means is I use a variety of therapeutic approaches to give you a counselling experience that is tailored to you. One size does not fit all and this very much applies in therapy.
I have worked with adults for many years with a wide range of difficulties and life issues such as bereavement, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, addiction, relationships and traumas.
It can also be that you are feeling stuck in life maybe feeling unmotivated and a bit lost.
I recognise that there are times in everybody's life when things get too much, and we cannot seem to see a way through our difficulties. I know it's not easy to decide to begin counselling, you may even feel you're being a bit silly or think you should be able to cope on your own. Maybe you have tried talking to friends which can leave you feeling unheard, misunderstood maybe even judged, this can lead to frustration and questioning of yourself.
Maybe you have become a parent and you are now questioning your own upbringing.
Having an understanding and experienced counsellor can help you to start to reclaim your power and live the life you deserve. Counselling not only allows you to recover from the distress and upset that you have experienced, but you can also learn and thrive. You can live a life that is deeply fulfilling.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Alongside my private practice, I have worked and volunteered for a bereavement charity for the past 4 years. Helping people who have lost their loved ones and been witness to them find a new way to live. We are resilient and I have such a wonderful job watching people grow and change.
Whilst I believe in training, knowledge and the skills that I bring to the counselling room the most encouraging feedback I get from clients is they feel seen and heard.
