About me

Hi

I am a Person Centred/ Integrative counsellor offering counselling to clients in my private practice in Edinburgh.

I qualified in 2012 from Edinburgh College with an HNC in Integrative Counselling, and in 2014 from Strathclyde University with a Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling. I am a professional member of COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) I work within the COSCA ethical framework and adhere to GDPR regulations.

I believe early significant relationships as children can have a profound impact on who we become and how we feel about ourselves. If these relationships are particularly challenging this can make daily life as adults really difficult. By talking through issues you can become aware of unhelpful beliefs and behaviours which may hinder you from being content or moving forward. Having an understanding of yourself can be very empowering and help you to make changes in your life.

The relationship that we create in our counselling sessions is at the heart of my work with clients.

I have worked for six years with a charity specialising in the perinatal period, supporting women and their families before, during and after the birth of their baby. I also work in an agency, and in private practice offering general counselling to clients with a range of issues.

Prior to qualifying as a therapist i worked as a Nursery Nurse in The Royal Blind School with young adults with learning and physical disabilities. As part of my therapy training I had a two year placement at Glasgow Clyde College supporting students between the ages of sixteen and twenty five which was enormously rewarding.
