About me

Sometimes we feel we are not happy in the life that we are living and coming to terms with it or making a change can feel like an insurmountable task. Or we endure a loss that leaves us feeling utterly devastated; the breakdown of a friendship, the demise of a marriage, the death of a significant person, a parental or sibling estrangement. You may not even know what is wrong but you have an innate sense that your anxiety and low mood need your attention. That the sadness and loneliness you are experiencing is overwhelming and you want to reach out to find some happiness. But we can lose our sense of perspective at such times. Whatever you are going through it is worthy of your attention.

I am a person-centred counsellor, which means I believe in your personal innate ability to find your way forward. You have decided that counselling might be beneficial at this particular time, because you need a skilled professional to help you navigate your life. As a counsellor I am here to help you bring sense to your life.  As someone who is skilled in listening I offer you a calm, kind and non-judgmental space to share your story.

Counselling can help you to find a way forward when you don’t feel there is one. Helping you to tap into your own capacity to make sense of who you are, in order for you to make the important changes to live the life you want to lead.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
