About me

Welcome to my profile page. Coming to see a counsellor can be a daunting experience. You may feel anxious, embarrassed or scared, however, it can be a relief to be able to talk to someone who doesn’t have a stake in your life.
I am a qualified, BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered integrative counsellor but above all, a person with an authentic human presence and a rich life experience. I value individual differences, otherness and uniqueness of the experience, therefore, I approach each client uniquely. In this approach, we will be exploring your past experiences and helping you understand how you ended up following your path, and experiencing what you're experiencing today.

What to expect from working with me

I'll give you the space and time you deserve to finally get to know yourself, find acceptance for what you discover on your journey and experience the change in return. I might not have all the answers to your questions, however, I can empower you to find your own. It will not be uncomfortable for me to sit with you in your chaos, tolerate your stuckness and walk alongside you through dark places.

How therapy can help you

There are times in life when you may want to share with someone what you are experiencing, to be heard and understood and at the same time to listen to yourself, understand your emotions and thoughts. If you decide to start the journey with me by your side then you can expect me to help you to:

Find a strength to 'get up and carry on' and feel you are listened to and understood when no one else seems to be there for you.

Find a new perspective of looking at things.

Talk openly without fear of being judged.

Identify unhelpful coping strategies and replace them with more helpful ones.

Recognise difficult feelings and find ways to live with them.

Change the patterns of behaviour as a result of emotional triggers.

Understand how your anxiety works so you understand why you feel the way you feel. That, in turn, can help you to break the vicious circle of anxiety that just makes things worse.

Find a way to release feelings of stuckness and move on.

Clear the fog, despair and feeling of hopelessness and find clarity and hope.

Relax and gain more effective sleeping patterns.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
