About me

Hi My name is Maz and I will start off with being real.

Life as a human is extremely hard and it is so important for your own wellbeing not to retain your struggles in your head, don't keep them locked away because the reality is, it will do you more harm than good and that is not healthy for you or others around you, when it comes to creating a healthy environment in the home, relationships or the workplace then we have to start from within.

My focus is to support you with the struggles you may be going through, those struggles may be something you can specifically identify for example an experience or event that has taken place but other times it's not so easy to identify, for example it could be stress that has built up over time and has now reached a level where you are either struggling to manage those stress levels or the coping strategies that you or your mental wellbeing felt would be effective are no longer having the desired affect and are now impacting your life in ways you didn't foresee.

Your life matters so lets start by allowing me to support you to create more space to be present and enjoy your life.

Here's a few areas where it might show up in your life, day to day you're struggling, overwhelmed, unable to concentrate, the days are tough perhaps they feel long and intense and you are seeking some sort of escapism, there can be many reasons you are feeling like this from bereavement & loss, trauma, complex family issues, low self-esteem, anxiety & stress plus many others.

All of the above feelings and experiences can feel overwhelming and you're struggling to catch a breather. The world is moving too fast and you need it to just stop for a moment to figure it out or try and make sense of what's going on so you can respond how you want too and not like it's out of your control.

Therapy is effectively the time to pause, to get you back in control of your life, where your life is your own and one you want to be part of and have the freedom to flourish and grow.

I am a fully qualified and accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with extensive experience in Face to Face, Online and Phone counselling.

Whether your sessions are indoors, outdoors, online or on the phone, I am committed to providing a warm and supportive environment where you can explore, heal and thrive.

Granted I might not be able to guarantee warm weather if we are working outdoors especially as our sessions are located in Scotland, however we can wrap up with layers and my hope would be that you feel the warmth and support through my sessions which offer a friendly, safe, supportive non-judgemental space whilst I actively listen and guide you to create space whether that is to allow you to explore your challenges, struggles or deepening your self-awareness, your well-being is my top priority so I am here to offer compassionate guidance and help you navigate through your struggles and walk alongside you on your journey to wholeness.

Face to Face sessions are delivered indoors at East Kilbride Collective @ Strathmore House in East Kilbride or outdoors in a number of Country Parks located around South Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire and some areas of Glasgow.

Connecting with/in nature can be a very effective strategy for your mental wellness as it can reduce stress and anxiety levels, boost your mood and self-esteem, along with creating an element of space which improves focus, attention, allowing space for problem solving/ creating a solution as well as aiding your physical wellbeing by reducing blood pressure, heart rate and muscle tension.
