About me

You might be here because anxiety and stress are keeping you up at night; or perhaps you have lost someone and are not sure how to go on. You might feel your stomach sinking every time you think about going back to work, or maybe it is something entirely different that has prompted you to put the word “counsellor” in your search engine.

Counselling can be life changing and can help you deal with the issues you are experiencing. Therapy can help you gain more control in your life, make sense of things that have happened and give you tools to live a happier and more fulfilled life.

I trained as a counsellor and started my private practice following my own personal experiences with therapy. Navigating crippling anxiety and a work-related burnout have been some of the things I learned to overcome during my counselling journey and which have turned into a passion to help others.

What I can support you with:

Although anxiety, bereavement and work-related stress are my particular areas of focus, I can work with you on a number of difficulties, including:

  • Depression
  • Feeling overwhelmed or stuck
  • Grief & loss
  • Difficulties associated with different life stages
  • Loneliness
  • Loss of purpose
  • Self esteem issues
  • Family difficulties
  • Relationship difficulties & breakdown
  • Unresolved past traumas
  • Anger

How I work:

As an Integrative Counsellor, I tailor my approach to you and your individual needs. The way I work is based on the following beliefs:

  • Creating a safe, trusting, and non-judgemental space in therapy, where clients feel they can really be themselves, is of great importance and value.
  • Our experiences from the past are often an unconscious driver of our actions in the presence.
  • Understanding the past brings on greater awareness, but change happens in the present.

My focus in the sessions is on you and what you want to gain from therapy. We will explore your issues together and work towards your desired outcomes. This might be done in a time-limited way or over a longer period of time, depending on your individual needs.

Counselling sessions:

I offer sessions online through Google Meet and over the phone; I also have face-to-face availability in Addiscombe, Croydon on Saturday mornings.

I offer a free 15 minute introductory call, where we can speak briefly about what brings you to therapy and agree on the next steps.

All counselling appointment are scheduled weekly at a mutually agreed time, and each session is 50 minutes in length.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed a level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and have been working with clients in low cost agencies and EAP settings.

I have also completed a BACP & OU training on working online.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

I continue to enhance my knowledge through regular CPD and I am currently in the process of completing a training on a Trauma-Informed Practice.

Outside of my counselling field, I have more than 15 years of experience in leadership roles within different industries and hold a CIPD Qualification in HR Management. I have a wealth of experience in supporting others with work-related difficulties, particularly stress & burnout.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
