About me

*CURRENTLY: FULL for CLIENT WORK but AVAILABLE FOR SUPERVISION. (Please see my supervision section for more details)*

I am an accredited Gestalt therapist and can offer therapy in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to talk about experiences that are causing you distress.

I provide 1-1 short and long term counselling and therapy for adults.

I am passionate about and specialise in body-orientated approaches to help you understand, express and integrate your individual experiences, when talking alone cannot. Working in this way can help cultivate more awareness of your needs and how they might be met. My extensive background in the creative arts also means I can offer creative approaches to therapy when it feels right for you.

It can take courage to take that first step and seek support through counselling or therapy. I believe it is a courageous first step that holds the possibility of growth, change and living life more fully.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been practising therapy since August 2017 and I have experience of working with a diverse range of adults in voluntary sector, NHS and private practice settings.

Alongside my private practice, I  I am also a Senior Lecturer in Counselling and Psychological Therapies.

I have over 26 years’ experience working in Higher Education and I hold expertise in supporting both educators and students in what has become an increasingly stressful environment that is impacting mental health negatively.

I was previously a counsellor at Nottingham Counselling Services – a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) recognised and accredited service. Whilst I work with clients on a wide range of issues, I have a particular interest and expertise in supporting people with issues of trauma, identity, belonging, loneliness, loss and grief.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Diploma: Psychotherapist (Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute)
  • Certified online & telephone counsellor. Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO) member level 1
  • MA by Independent Study: focus on relationality, embodiment and kinaesthetic empathy

I am fully insured and I work to the Codes of Ethics and Practice of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). As required by my professional body, I am in ongoing clinical supervision with a UKCP registered supervisor.
