About me

I am here to help you explore your world, in your own way.
I offer a warm, relaxed, safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore anything you wish. I will help you feel comfortable, heard and accepted.
I work from a peaceful space in a beautiful building on Hoole Road, Hoole.
I offer a blended approach to counselling, utilising my core training of person-centred counselling, as well as weaving through CBT skills - if appropriate.
I work in a trauma informed way to ensure you receive the care and respect you deserve.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked within the advice, guidance and supported housing sector for over 20 years - working with a diverse caseload of clients. I believe my extensive client work in previous front line services allows me a greater depth of understanding for the issues we can all face. (*Previous services include; Women's refuge, various high schools, The Foyer, Citizens Advice, Connexions etc).
We will work together to see what you want and need from therapy.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a HE Diploma in person-centred counselling from Glyndwr University.
I am passionate about self-development - recent training and areas of interest include; mindfulness teacher diploma, advanced diploma in CBT, social anxiety, relational depth, C-PTSD, menopause matters, dissociation, ACE's, childhood sexual abuse, diploma in child psychology, trauma and eating disorders, pluralistic counselling, single session therapy, online counselling (OU / BACP), LGBTQ+, mental health first aid.
Other qualifications include a Level six diploma in careers guidance and development.
I work with individual clients aged 18+.
I love being a counsellor and I am passionate about mental health, wellbeing and self-care.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and follow their ethical framework - please see my website for links to this guide.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
