About me

I offer counselling and outdoor therapy to adults experiencing feelings of anxiety, stress, depression, loss and isolation.  My practice is in Somerton in Somerset and I offer walk and talk sessions in this area and online sessions to nationwide clients.

I have a special interest in working with women in perimenopause /menopause and additionally specialise in Autism and ADHD and offer mentoring services to other therapists.

HOW I CAN HELP YOU
Your story matters and I am here to listen to whatever you have to say - in a calm and safe environment where we can work together in a respectful, open and trusting relationship. This is either online or outdoors walk & talk. Working at your pace, I will listen, support and offer you the space to express yourself openly and honestly. I will help you feel less stressed and anxious and more able to cope with whatever challenges you are facing right now. Your mental health will improve and you will become more empowered so that you feel more in control to make decisions that are right for you.

HOW COUNSELLING CAN HELP YOU
Life can be stressful and challenging, especially when we have to be everything to everybody, cope with difficult relationships, experience depression, anxiety or panic, isolation, illness, redundancy or any other issues that may affect our wellbeing. Developing a trusting, therapeutic relationship with a counsellor can help you find the tools and strategies required to help with these types of issues and gain a greater understanding of who we are.

GETTING STARTED
Starting counselling can feel overwhelming and you may think your problems aren't severe enough to need counselling but you can contact me and find out how this might help you with no obligation to book sessions. You'll find you'll be on your counselling journey in no time, at your pace and without added stress:

Telephone, text or email me to set up an initial session where we will talk about you and what you want to get out of counselling

If you are happy to continue - we will set up a second session together and then arrange for future weekly/fortnightly sessions if you are still happy to continue. It is entirely up to you for how long you want to work together and which of my therapies you wish to use.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
I trained as a person-centred counsellor and work in a confidential, non-judgemental and empathetic way.

I have gained extensive experience working with a local charity offering counselling to people from all walks of life with a variety of problems.

I am a fully insured, professionally qualified and experienced counsellor.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
