About me

Hello and welcome. I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and work with both current life problems as well as long-term issues. Passionate about mental health with a warm and creative style, I offer a supportive space to reflect and work collaboratively. If you feel that concerns have been building, struggle with low mood and anxiety, or would like to work on coming to terms with a loss or a past experiences, therapy offers a reflective space to gain a fresh perspective and work towards finding acceptance.

My approach is based on exploring and processing underlying beliefs and past experiences, and how they may be behind the issues you're currently experiencing. You may feel stuck or repeat patterns that have been shaped since your formative years. I believe that creativity, vulnerability and resilience are some of the guiding tools at our disposal on this journey. Through talking and exploring in a safe and understanding environment we can uncover patterns, recognise unresolved feelings and work towards growing into our best selves.

''When we deny our stories, they define us. When we own our stories, we get to write a brave new ending'' (Brené Brown)

My Background

As a counsellor with the NHS, ward volunteer at the Highgate Mental Health Centre and as a bereavement counsellor with Caris Islington, I have worked with a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, physical/mental health, stress, self-harm, work related issues, as well as chronic mental health conditions, autism and learning difficulties in my role as a support worker.

Originally from Switzerland, I have worked and studied in several countries and I am passionate about life in multi-cultural society. A creative and motivated personality, my other professional background is the broadcast and music industry and I have a holistic approach to life's challenges, including personal growth, spirituality and self-expression.

Taking this first step can often feel daunting and I offer a free introductory phone call to explore any questions and concerns you may have and how I can best assist you on your journey collaboratively. I provide therapy in person as well as via video and telephone in English, German and Swiss-German.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor (CPCAB Dip) and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), guided by an ethical framework that puts you and your wellbeing at the heart of the work. My approach is integrative, combining person-centred and psychodynamic models, to explore both present as well as past relationships and experiences and how they have shaped us.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
