About me

Perhaps you’re experiencing difficulties in past relationships. Maybe you lack confidence in social situations or generally finding it hard to cope with low self-esteem. Perhaps you are experiencing work-related stress or generalised anxiety, depression or panic attacks. It might be that you simply found yourself stuck in life and can’t find the way forward. Sometimes stressful life events can be so emotionally overwhelming, that we no longer wish to cope alone.

I understand how overwhelming life can be at times. I believe in talking through the challenges that life throws at us and I am offering you the support and providing the emotional space in which to untie the knots that prevent you from moving forward.

For 18 years I worked in the field of human rights and social justice before deciding to pursue my lifelong curiosity in psychology, moving into the world of self-development and counselling.

I work integratively, drawing on various models and backgrounds, depending on the needs of my clients. I believe that knowledge and understanding of ourselves and of the world come from our lived experience. For this reason, understanding your personal life experience will inform and lead our sessions.

My work is based on self-reflection, compassion and understanding, and gives the client the breathing space to explore their thoughts and feelings. Some of the therapeutic methods I use include TA (Transactional Analysis) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Mindfulness.

As a therapist, my aim is to harness the natural tendency toward change, growth and the fulfilment of potential.

I seek to build a relaxing and non-judgmental relationship with clients, resulting in greater self-understanding, changes in behaviour, new ways of coping and improved wellbeing.

Areas I work with:

  • Lack of confidence in social situations
  • Coping with low self-esteem
  • Difficulties in relationships
  • Loss of meaning in life
  • Work-related stress
  • Sexual identity
  • Bereavement
  • Panic attacks
  • Depression
  • Addiction
  • Anxiety

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
