About me

My name is Laura. I am a qualified counsellor and registrant on the BACP register of counsellors and psychotherapists. I understand that life at times can be challenging and as human beings it is natural to seek support during difficult times. And so if you have found yourself here you have just taken the first difficult step in the desire for change.

Are you or a loved one having feelings of anxiety or periods of low mood? Have you recently suffered a bereavement and are struggling to cope? Or are you feeling at a loss with low self esteem or relationship difficulties? These are but a few of the reasons that we choose to seek support. At Essex Inspire Counselling I specialise in working with adults and children through in person, telephone and online sessions tailored to suit your needs.

Together we can explore these feelings and find ways to help you manage these emotions when times are hard.

Call, email or visit my website and we can arrange a free consultation to discuss your needs.

I offer in-person sessions in a relaxing and cosy purpose built counselling room. As well as online and on the telephone for your convenience. I also offer walk and talk therapy along the beautiful beaches of Clacton on Sea and Holland on Sea.

I offer reduced rate counselling to trainee/student counsellors.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling directed by the Person centred approach and supported by Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)

I have been trained in:

  • Suicide and risk assessment
  • Bereavement and Grief therapy
  • Working with 'Self' for low self esteem and negative thought patterns
  • Working with self harm
  • Working with Autism and Aspergers

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
