About me

Welcome.

There may be a host of reasons why you are thinking of coming for counselling…

Have you felt depressed, anxious, or angry for a long time? Are you having difficulty processing things that have happened in your past? Are there issues in your life that you struggle to make sense of? Do you want to build your self-confidence and find the power to change and be the person you want to be? Maybe you have realised that you keep repeating the same self-defeating patterns and getting the same negative outcomes? Are you feeling overwhelmed by life’s obstacles?

Life can be challenging, but you have the ability to make profound and lasting changes.

How can Counselling help?

Counselling and therapy can be life changing, especially when experiencing difficulties or feeling that you do not have control of your life. It can help you to explore both yourself and the issues you are facing. By understanding the ‘how’ and ‘why’, you are better placed to know, not only what you want to change but also how you can make those changes, leading to a happier and more fulfilling life. I can help you realise a truly positive experience that is solely about you, providing the opportunity for you to talk and explore your thoughts and feelings. The therapy session is your space where you will be listened to, heard, and understood.

About me...

I use an integrative approach aiming to help you gain a deeper insight into both past and present experiences, to help empower you to make informed choices that lead to those meaningful changes you desire. I do not ascribe to a ‘one size fits all’ ideal, preferring a flexible counselling approach ensuring therapy is a positive, compassionate non-judgemental experience. Enabling you to explore your issues within a trusting, warm, therapeutic relationship.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor based in Enfield North London, where I run my private practice.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their ethical framework.

I have experience working as a volunteer counsellor for Rephael House in North Finchley, and have also worked as a counsellor for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

Prior to becoming a therapeutic counsellor I worked as a senior Occupational Therapist specialising in community rehab and palliative care.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
