About me
As a counsellor I have worked with a wide variety of individuals, couples and organizations. Although originally trained in a Person Centered approach, I have developed my practice to encompass a wider variety of theoretical approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA). This allows me to work with a good range of any issues you may be hoping to address in a way that you will feel comfortable in and be able to make progress with. Common issues may be anxiety, depression, family issues, relationships, low self esteem or work stress.
Counsellors like to say, "It's all in the relationship" and I'm inclined to agree with this when I'm working with you! This means I'll be very interactive and collaborative with you in the sessions, and aim to make your experience of therapy a positive experience rather than a torture chamber. Counselling is, after all, supposed to leave you in a better and more settled place than when you started.
I'd be delighted to have a free initial conversation with you to find out what's going on for you and what you would like to work on. This also allows you to work out if you'd like to work with me. If you're interested in working on your concerns, it's just a matter of booking up our diaries and taking it from there.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
As well as working with individuals and couples, I also have extensive experience in working with organisations, particularly in a mental health/occupational health setting. For managers and organisations looking to support their staff with their mental health and planning how they may make a return to work from sickness/keeping them in work and avoiding sick absence - I am able to provide support with this.

Additional information
Please give me a call if you would like to find out more. I'm very happy to address any questions you may have in an initial call - and always it's a good opportunity with any potential counsellor to find out if you like them or not! If you're coming as part of a couple, good to have a talk to both of you if possible.
For individuals I charge £50 per session.
