About me

Taking your first step towards positive change and well-being...

It can feel a bit daunting trying to find the right therapist, especially when you are looking for someone who you will feel comfortable with, who will understand you and the cost and time commitment.

I would love to help you rediscover that feeling of happiness and positivity again

Hopefully, the information you need to help you make your choice is covered here. Let's explore how I can help you.

What I can help you with

Here are some of the common issues I can help you with - but not limited to:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • stress
  • feeling sad
  • low self-esteem & low self-confidence
  • emotionally painful and distressful childhood trauma
  • understanding the difficulties in forming and maintaining relationships in either friendships or romantic partnerships.
  • relationship attachment styles
  • break down of a relationship

Deciding to seek counselling is the first big step, the benefits are self-evident, but factors such as cost, and time commitment can be a big concern.

I do offer lower fees for online sessions, which can be a far more cost effective and time effective option. I also do not require you to commit to weekly sessions making it a more flexible choice.

There are many reasons for seeking therapy and here are a few that clients have confided to me;

Experiencing loneliness, fear, desperation, or despair...

Feeling lost, empty, disconnected, or stuck...

Lack of energy to function daily...

Struggling with strong emotions such as anger or sadness that you conceal from others...

Frequently using substances, or other addictions to escape everyday life...

Not feeling appreciated, loved, and cared for...

Battling with your own mind and racing thoughts...

How can counselling help?

Sometimes it is easier to talk to a stranger than to a relative or friend because often, they might not be able to understand or hear what is on your mind. It may be that you do not wish to burden them, or it is just not possible to be open and honest with them. During therapy, I can listen to you and help you find your own answers to problems, without judging you.

In our sessions you can talk openly and without judgement. You may need time to talk, cry, shout or just think. It allows us the opportunity to look at your problems in a unique way, with someone who will respect you and your opinions.

Counselling aims to help you deal with and overcome issues that are causing emotional pain or making you feel uncomfortable. It is a type of talking therapy that allows you to talk about your problems and feelings in a confidential and dependable environment.

Sometimes, therapy can bring up difficult emotions, but it can also provide hope, clarity, relief, and guidance as we work through your thoughts and feelings. Over time, it feels like a positive step towards understanding yourself better and finding healthier ways to cope.

My work is based upon a person-centred and humanistic approach to counselling and has brought inner peace, healing, clarity, and comfort to many clients.

My approach is one which is flexible with an emphasis on creating a warm and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, where you can feel safe to express and explore your thoughts and feelings, bringing inner peace and healing.

I am committed to providing a safe, therapeutic environment for all my clients, irrespective of age, gender, race, sexuality, or religious beliefs.

Why not book a free introductory, no obligation call, or email me, so you can get to know me better.
Alternatively, if you have any questions, queries or concerns feel free to send an email.

Thank you.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
