About me
Hi, I'm Kate.
If life feels overwhelming, or you're not sure where to begin, you don't have to figure it out alone. I'll listen without judgement, at your pace, with space for whatever is hard to put into words.
Sessions are shaped by what matters to you, not by a set agenda. You can bring whatever is on your mind, whether that's a difficult week, a long-standing worry, or something you can't quite name yet.
Over time, this space can help you understand yourself better and grow in self-acceptance and confidence.
The first step is a free, informal conversation. You can ask me questions, share as much or as little as you like, and get a feel for whether working together feels right. There's no obligation to continue.
Get in touch whenever you're ready.
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a Person-Centred & Experiential Counsellor (MBACP) with a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also currently completing my MA at LJMU with specialist interests in neurodiversity and parenthood. Alongside my counselling experience, I bring over 17 years in education, supporting adults and young people with compassion, warmth, and a neuro-affirming approach.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

What to Expect
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, at a time that suits you. In our first session, we'll take time to get to know each other, talk about what's brought you here, and think together about what you'd like from counselling. There's no pressure to say more than you're comfortable with, and you can go at your own pace.
Where We Meet
Sessions are available face-to-face or online. Online sessions take place on Microsoft Teams, and I'll send you a link beforehand. All you need is a private space and a stable internet connection. If you're meeting in person, my therapy space is designed to feel cosy and calm, somewhere you can settle in and take a moment before we begin.
