About me

Hello I’m Jody, an experienced Integrative Counsellor. Currently working with adults, adolescents and those affected by the challenges and trauma’s that life can bring.

I see clients face to face in my office based in South Manchester, Sale, M33 and also online via Zoom.

Are you:

  • Feeling anxious, stressed, sad, guilty, low in mood, or overwhelmed?
  • Finding it difficult to move forwards?
  • Struggling with overthinking and wanting to explore coping strategies?
  • Repeating the same patterns and wanting to change them?
  • Struggling to understand/regulate your emotions?
  • Facing challenges within your relationships, family life and work?
  • Finding that your self esteem or self confidence is being affected?

I can help you to:

  • Explore difficult emotions and experiences.
  • Work on unhelpful thoughts or behaviours.
  • Gain insight and clarity.
  • Develop your self awareness & find new ways of coping.
  • Feel calmer and happier.

I do this by creating a safe, confidential space, helping you to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

I’ll ask questions, listen to your story, validate your experiences, sometimes challenge you, support you so you don’t feel like you have to do it alone and share knowledge with you if/when necessary.

My approach to counselling is Integrative. This means that I draw upon different approaches including CBT, which allows me to offer an individual service, after all we are all unique individuals and one size doesn’t fit all.

Here are some of the challenges that I have supported client’s with. This is not an exhaustive list, please contact me to see if I can support you with your current life challenges.

Anxiety, grief & loss, stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, low mood, low self-esteem, low confidence, pregnancy/birth/perinatal challenges.

I work within a local secondary school counselling students, facilitating workshops and offering reflective supervision sessions to teachers and support staff.

I do recommend a free 15 minute telephone consultation prior to attending Counselling. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and see if my way of working suits your needs right now.

*I also offer a few low cost therapy sessions to student's and those on a low income. Please contact me for more information.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
