About me

I am a qualified Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in Crieff. I aim to offer a calm, safe and non-judgemental space where you can confidentially explore any issues or difficulties affecting your life.

While I work predominantly within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, I also draw on a range of perspectives from other therapies to offer a holistic and individualised approach tailored to you.

Together we can identify and work towards your goals which may include working out how to deal with a particular problem, how to manage stress anxiety or depression, build self-esteem and self-confidence, improve well-being, work on personal growth and development or make a positive change in your life.

Through CBT, a clinically and research proven therapy for many conditions, we can identify how certain thinking patterns or behaviours can cause symptoms which make us feel anxious, depressed or angry. By increasing our awareness of these patterns and connections, we can identify old coping strategies that are no longer in your best interests and develop more helpful ways to approach problems or manage some of life's challenges.

As a qualified and experienced yoga teacher, I am passionate about the body-mind connection which can promote healing. I can offer a variety of techniques which include breathwork, mindfulness and compassion practices to soothe and calm the nervous system, to help with emotional regulation and to support you toward the changes you would like to make.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
