About us

About Us
At Hope Therapy & Counselling Services, we understand how low self-esteem and a lack of confidence can affect every aspect of life, from relationships and work to decision-making and overall wellbeing. Whether you've struggled with self-doubt for years or your confidence has been affected by recent events, our experienced therapists provide a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can begin to understand yourself differently.

We work with individuals experiencing low self-worth, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-criticism and the lasting effects of difficult life experiences. Together, we'll help you build resilience, develop healthier thinking patterns and create lasting positive change.

Services Offered
One-to-One Counselling
Our experienced counsellors provide personalised therapy to help you explore the thoughts, beliefs and experiences that have shaped your confidence. Whether you're struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety, difficult relationships or life transitions, we'll work collaboratively to help you develop greater self-belief and emotional resilience.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps identify the negative thinking patterns that often underpin low confidence and self-criticism. By learning practical strategies to challenge these beliefs, many people develop healthier ways of thinking, improve emotional wellbeing and feel more confident in everyday life.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Sometimes low self-esteem develops following difficult or traumatic experiences that continue to influence how we see ourselves. EMDR can help process these experiences, reducing their emotional impact and allowing healthier beliefs about yourself to develop.

Couples Counselling
Confidence and self-esteem often influence our relationships. Our couples therapists help partners improve communication, strengthen understanding and build healthier relationships where both individuals feel heard, respected and valued.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness encourages greater self-awareness and helps reduce the impact of self-critical thoughts. Learning to become more present can improve emotional regulation, reduce anxiety and create space for greater self-compassion.

Online Counselling
We offer secure online counselling throughout the UK, providing flexible access to experienced therapists wherever you are. Online therapy offers the same professional support as face-to-face sessions, allowing you to access counselling in a way that fits around your life.

Clinical Supervision
Alongside our counselling services, Hope Therapy also provides professional clinical supervision for qualified counsellors and counsellors in training, supporting ethical and reflective therapeutic practice.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
