About me

My name is Holly and I am a fully qualified Integrative counsellor in Haslemere. I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. I have been practising now for over 8 years.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I follow their ethical framework to ensure my practice is run correctly and ethically, ensuring my clients' safety and protection.

I am neurodiverse and therefore can demonstrate a particular element of my personality that should be accepted in this rather confusing world. I find I do not fit into the stereotypical bracket, when people come to me I encourage nothing more than to be yourself, we start therapy as equals and we will finish therapy as equals and there is a whole lot of in-between that will help build your self-esteem and understand and accept yourself further.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 2 Domestic Abuse (2022)
  • Level 3 Animal Assisted Therapy (2019) - Distinction
  • Level 3 Child and Adolescence Counselling (2017-2018) - Higher Distinction
  • Foundation degree integrative counselling and psychotherapy (2014-2016)
  • Level 3 Counselling Skills (2013-2014)
  • Level 2 Helping Skills (2013-2014)
  • Level 1 Interpersonal Skills (2012-2013)

I have experience working with the following:

  • Domestic Violence
  • Weight Loss + Obesity
  • Sexual Assault
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Loss
  • Depression
  • Food Addiction
  • Self-worth and low self-esteem

I have also worked with groups in a CBT psycho-educational format, helping people discover reasons for weight gain and encouraging weight loss. If you have a group of friends all looking to lose weight, I am happy to run a group together to help you gain an understanding of the psychological impacts of food.

I run a well-being group for those who have/are experiencing Domestic abuse. This group follows on from the Freedom Programme where you learn about the 'abuser', in the sessions I run, you learn about yourself covering a range of topics to hopefully encourage self-development. Looking at self-care, and what that means, healthy coping strategies, improving self-esteem, assertiveness and self-empowerment tools as well as self-acceptance.

I am also a local youth worker, giving me experience in doing group discussions for young people. With this, I encourage individuality, confidence and improved self-worth. No situation is too big or small, the feelings that are created are real. Helping with those feelings in the now can change the insight of the person, developing growth.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
