About me

I am a psychodynamically trained, BACP registered counsellor who offers online counselling to adults of all ages with a wide range of issues. I have previously worked in a London university counselling service, a problem gambling service and a domestic abuse service and I bring this range of experience to my private practice.

My practice is informed by various different models (including Person-Centred and CBT) and I adjust my approach to meet the needs of individual clients.

I offer individual counselling to adults on a weekly basis both short and long term. I provide a warm, non judgemental space in which to explore issues that are negatively impacting your life. I usually recommend a minimum of six sessions. Sessions last 50 minutes and occur at the same time and day every week.

I offer a 15 minute telephone consultation for us to establish whether we can work productively together. The consultation is free of charge and there is no obligation to book an assessment.

If you decide to continue, we will book an initial 1 hour assessment at the same price as a single session (£70). During the initial assessment, we identify the issues that you would like to focus on and discuss your expectations of therapy. I may ask you to provide GP details and details of an emergency contact.

Following the assessment, should you choose to book sessions, we will agree a time and day.

If after the assessment, I feel that you would benefit from speaking to a practitioner with a different skill set / area of specialism, I aim to provide a referral.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am psychodynamically trained and hold an MA in Counselling from Goldsmiths University. I am a registered member of the BACP and am guided by their ethical framework. Prior to training as a counsellor, I worked for 10 years in graduate recruitment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
