About me

Sometimes we can feel like we’ve lost our way,  worn out, anxious, low in confidence. Perhaps life has taken an unexpected turn – work is getting you down, you're facing fertility or parenting challenges, relationships aren’t working out. Or perhaps you’ve achieved what you wanted but are still unhappy and can't quite put your finger on why?

How I can help

I provide a confidential and supportive space to help you process your thoughts and feelings. I can give you the rare freedom to say whatever comes to mind, and look at underlying, perhaps unconscious thoughts, feelings and patterns that may be causing distress. Together we will explore what's happening now, what's happened in the past, and how to move forward.

I often work with people who find themselves burnt out, dissatisfied, or in upsetting circumstances. They may be facing challenges around fertility, parenthood, work, relationships, menopause or health, and need someone to talk to who won’t get upset or make them feel judged. Or perhaps their challenges were in the past, and now feels like the right time to address them.  Sometimes I work with people who may have found CBT or DBT helpful previously, but now want to go deeper to understand why they feel the way they do.

How to begin

I recognise that starting therapy can be daunting. I provide a free 15-minute telephone call so that you can see if we are a good fit and whether our schedules match for either online or in person work. Please email me to set up a time to speak.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
