BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
I worked for Mind as the Lead High Intensity Counsellor at West Norfolk Mind. I hold a Masters in Counselling and I am a Registered member of BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). I work to BACP's ethical framework and code of practice for counsellors and psychotherapists. I work alongside companies in London and Norfolk working with Nurses, Kings Lynn Borough Council, local High Schools and businesses as well as taking referrals from doctor's surgeries.
I write a monthly mental health/agony column for Let's Talk magazine.
I am also a qualified Focus Oriented Psychotherapist and Focusing Trainer.
I regularly undertake training to keep up to date with developments within psychotherapy.
After working for Mind I set up my own Private Practice which quickly grew through recommendations from Doctors, Schools, Businesses, Local Authorities and word of mouth. I then moved from a rented room at the Discovery Centre to my own Consulting Rooms in St. Ann's House, Kings Lynn. During that time I also set up a Private Practice working from Harley Street in Central London. Hence the name of the company. I soon found it too much to travel and work in London as well as fit busy city folks into a two day slot, plus the Norfolk business was getting busier and busier. I, therefore, cut my hours down to working mainly online for my London Clients so that I could concentrate on the Norfolk Business which was growing rapidly.
Due to demand I soon realised that in order to be able to help as many people as possible, I needed to find more highly trained and experienced people and, over the course of 10 years, I have trained, worked with, Supervised or had recommended to me this team of superb Psychotherapists and Counsellors. I am privileged to work with people I consider to be the best at what they do. Our team is growing with demand and so one of us at least will be well suited to your needs.
We always suggest a first session to make sure you feel totally at ease and comfortable with your Therapist, then we take it from there so don't worry about being obligated to carry on if it doesn't feel right. Our aim is to find you the right Therapist at the right time (which is usually when you have made up your mind to have some therapy) and help you on your way to more contentment and happiness.
