About me
Accessing therapy
Reading this, you may feel overwhelmed by life, whether due to current or past relationships, events, work, life transitions or simply the competing demands of everyday responsibilities. This may be impacting on your mood; perhaps feeling low with little joy. You might be feeling irritated with others and you don't know why. Perhaps you have noticed self critical thoughts, be low in confidence and not feel good enough. You may feel like you need support to understand your current experience and reflect on reoccurring patterns of difficulty. Developing new skills to manage differently, feel more in control and like yourself again, could be something you are looking to spend time on.
About me
An experienced, qualified NHS psychotherapist, accredited with BACP, I specialise in working outdoors, and can help you draw on the therapeutic benefits of nature, whether holding sessions outdoors or online. This may include simply ‘walking and talking’, or holding the session sitting outdoors in a green space. This could also include other more immersive therapy such as forest bathing or drawing on ecopsychology to consider healing in a different way.
Working therapeutically online has lots of benefits and can allow you to work therapy around a busy schedule, whilst also ensure you work with your chosen therapist, wherever they may be and therefore I offer therapy online also, primarily working through Zoom.
I am keenly aware of the effects of stress and the impact everyday pressures can have on our lives, and use recommended approaches and techniques to help you manage this. I am foremost a ‘relational’ therapist, paying close attention to how the therapeutic relationship can create a space to explore, understand and gain insight into current difficulty and move towards healing and change.
My training is in three main therapeutic approaches; psychodynamic, person centred and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I have further training in other evidence based approaches as detailed below. This enables me to work successfully with what we often understand to be anxiety, depression, low confidence, stress, burnout, trauma, relationship difficulties amongst other areas of concern. I have a particular interest in working with life transitions; whether due to a change in career, relationship, personal loss or stage in life.
I am also a visiting lecturer at the University of South Wales (USW) in the Therapeutic Studies department and am experienced in providing a supportive reflective space for groups as well as individual personal development.
What to do next
Beginning therapy can be a difficult first step, it can feel scary and you may feel unsure about where to start and what might be helpful. By getting in contact for a free 15 min initial conversation, we can discuss your areas of concern and what you would like support on. Working together, we will map a route to greater clarity and a easing of difficulty.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer a free 15 minute introductory call to discuss what you might like to explore in therapy.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length and are held either online via Zoom or alternatively can be held outdoors in a location agreed between us.
Sessions outdoors can be either still or we can walk and talk as mobility and energy allows. I work in all weather unless forecasts advise not to due to inclement weather.
