About me

Do people say there's something wrong with you? You're dramatic, oversensitive, lazy, weird, confusing, or inconsistent? But they don’t see how hard you are trying, and now you are overwhelmed, exhausted, and burnt out.

Do you feel like a contradiction? Full of creativity and sparkle one moment and floored by what others find easy the next?

I’m Fran, I work with neurodivergent clients particularly ADHD (er’s) and AuDHD (er’s). Diagnosed, self-identified or questioning. I can help you to believe in yourself and feel empowered to ask for what you need. I will help you make friends with your brain and nervous system instead of hating them, whilst embracing your complexity, and uncovering your true capacity.

I can also support you through the diagnosis process, in unpacking a recent diagnosis/assessment or with those first vulnerable steps exploring neurodiversity.

I offer both Neurodivergent affirming therapy and coaching.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, confused, frustrated, full of imposter syndrome, afraid you're just making excuses, but tentatively hopeful that this might be a turning point in your life?

The idea of thriving may feel like an alien concept to you right now. Or even make you feel angry because people just haven’t got it in the past. Yet you know intuitively there is greatness inside you if only you could let it out.

Perhaps you're experiencing burnout at work, chaos at home, and relationship struggles with friends and family. Carrying guilt about your failures, and confused by inconsistent energy levels. You’ve felt anxious and/or depressed on an off for ever, but you sense it’s more than that somehow.

Would you like to work with someone who’s brain functions in a similar way to yours?

Before I became a therapist, I’d had years of counselling for what I thought was either recurring anxiety and depression, or my own failure to keep up and make lasting changes.

My training gave me so much personally and professionally, yet I came to realise, perhaps I was struggling for different reasons to others?

I noticed people with similar experiences appearing in my counselling room. They had diverse histories but shared common threads, and our interactions felt more connected and easier somehow. Clients would often comment on how comfortable they felt with me, and I’d really enjoy working with them too.

I knew I was Dyslexic initially and I soon became aware it was more than that. Subsequently I’ve received diagnoses of Dyspraxia and ADHD (I also self-identified as autistic).

My identity is entwined with my professional work. I’m not a blank slate we collaborate in our work together. I welcome you to ask questions and I will share elements of my own lived experience where it may be helpful. Therapy can be painful, deeply moving and cathartic, but it can also be enjoyable and even fun at times.

You cannot bore me, I will genuinely delight in your interests and passions, or help you rediscover them; I can follow your tangents, you cannot be too fast or too slow in your speech. I don’t require that you are still, make eye contact, or stay on topic. You can choose your pace and I will honour that.

When you are ready I will gently, witness, hold and support you to process your painful experiences. I can help you better understand yourself, your needs, and preferences. Together we can expand your self-knowledge and confidence, developing ways for you to support yourself, regulate your emotions and feel more confident in your relationships. As a result, making it easier to advocate for yourself, align with what brings you joy and minimise the impact of a world not designed for us.

Are you looking for help with developing:

Confidence in relationships

  • A clearer understanding of yourself and the dynamics at play in interactions with others.
  • The ability to identify those details you might have missed previously, and where they have been influenced by the belief that you are “too much” or “not enough”.

More self-compassion

  • To feel safer to be you, accept and even delight in who you really are.
  • To change your natural self-talk to be kinder and more empowering and watch as this positively impacts your life.

Greater understanding of yourself and your capacity

  • To be honest about your needs and capacity, relived of the guilt from believing you’re a flawed Neurotypical “normal” person.
  • To identify your strengths and challenges and balance these alongside your true capacity.
  • Confidently set boundaries and advocate for your needs from a place of groundedness instead of survival.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
