About me
Hello! For me, counselling is about having someone to accompany you on your quest to understand yourself and your life better. I am a kind, creative and curious counsellor and counselling trainer; I work with each person to find out what they need and how we might achieve their goals. It's a team effort.
I trained in Integrative counselling which means I have a good understanding of lots of frameworks and ways of working, which makes it easy to tailor the work to you.
I primarily work in a person-centred way, meaning that I believe you are the only expert on you in the room. I might have some helpful frameworks or creative practices to help us explore, but I don't know what is best for you or what you should do next. I will be alongside you to figure it out together.
To book an introductory conversation just email me through Counselling Directory and we can arrange a time to meet online.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Level 7 Diploma in Counselling Supervision (2023)
- MSc Counselling: University of Bristol (2010-2013)
- BA Hons Youth and Community Work (1999-2002)
I have been involved in counselling training since 2016, working first as a tutor on a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy Research, and I currently teach on an advanced diploma in Person-Centred Counselling.
I am also a counselling and organisational supervisor, working with individuals and groups in the counselling sphere, but also people in other work environments who feel they benefit from a space to explore their practice.
I work with young people in an educational setting, but my private practice is with people 16+.

Further information
I offer an initial 30-minute session for you to experience what it might be like to work with me. This gives you the chance to suss me out, ask any questions you might have about how I work or how counselling works, and also to think about what you might like to work on or any goals you have.
If, after this session, you don't think I am the right person that is absolutely fine! It is really important that you find someone you think you can work with as the relationship is a big part of how effective counselling is going to be. If you felt like you'd be judged, or couldn't bring things to your counsellor, you may not get what you need out of the work.
