About me
Hi, I'm Dawn.
Beginning to look for a therapist can be hard. Whether you are a caregiver, young person, student, service provider, or feel you need support, I hope to answer any questions you may have.
I offer a free 20-minute online session with Young People or a free 20-minute phone consult with adults. This is for us to see if we are a good fit, and there is no obligation to continue. If talking on the phone is difficult, we can communicate through email until you feel comfortable.
I work in a counselling space in Wellingborough on Fridays and online via Teams throughout the week. My in-person sessions are full as of March 26. You may also meet Fudge, my therapy dog in training. For now, he joins some Teams calls; I hope that soon he can work in sessions too 🐾
✨ Are you struggling with the pressures of life? ✨
I can help you explore sticking points, overwhelm, and anxious thoughts, and work together to find strategies to overcome them. I work with you to provide thoughtful, creative, and inclusive counselling tailored to meet the unique needs of your child, young person, or yourself. I am trauma-informed and support a variety of mental health concerns, such as self-harm, low mood, poor sleep, nightmares, anxiety, bereavement, exploring gender, as well as exploring and understanding symptoms and traits of neurodivergence.
✨ Are you a parent of a young person who is struggling and needs a place to be heard? ✨
Reaching out for support when a person close to you is struggling is a great way to support yourself, build tools and techniques to support your loved one and have some much-needed time to process what is going on in a confidential space.
✨ Are you considering pursuing a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD, and want to explore that? ✨
I can offer a listening ear and empathetic understanding, free of judgment, drawing on my personal experience.
✨Is there something wrong that you can't quite put your finger on? ✨
Above all, I aim to offer a calm, respectful space where you can feel safe to be yourself and figure out what helps you move forward. 🌱

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
