About me

I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor working in Hampshire. I currently offer face-to-face counselling at Counselling@Unit12 in Winchester. When working at Counselling@Unit12, we are mindful of the current professional and Government advice regarding Covid-19 and adhere to various protocols to work in as safe a manner as possible. I also offer counselling on-line, via Zoom, if you are unable to work with me face-to-face.

If you are experiencing issues with anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, abuse, relationship issues or a lack of confidence, I offer counselling where together we can get to the bottom of your difficulties and help you to understand yourself more clearly.

Psychodynamic Counselling can provide you with a confidential, non-judgmental 'space' to reflect upon and work through the issues you are facing.

Counselling requires commitment from us both, but gradually, over time, it can be a rewarding way to enable you to manage the issues that life throws your way.

In an Initial Consultation, we can discuss what has brought you to counselling and any relevant background information. We can also discuss what your needs and expectations of counselling are and determine whether psychodynamic counselling and me as your counsellor are suitable for you.

Confidentiality is integral to counselling and my aim is to provide you with a safe environment where you are not judged and free to discuss whatever is on your mind.

Our sessions take place at the same time, on the same day, in the same room each week and in doing so we hope to ensure safety and containment.

As part of our boundaries I will not answer direct questions, rather I will treat such questions like any other thought you may have.

Counselling can either be 'open-ended' long-term work or short-term with prior agreement.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
