About me

Hello there, my name is Dan and I'm a person-centered counsellor currently seeing clients over Skype and Zoom.

If what you read below interests you, the first session is a 30 minute free session, where we can discuss what you feel you want to get out of counselling. I offer services covering a wide spectrum of issues and topics, including anxiety, alcohol and substance misuse, depression, abuse and relationship issues.

Here is a little about how I work: I'm a person-centred counsellor, meaning that our sessions are led by you. This means that you bring the topics and issues you want to discuss and explore with me in a safe, non-judgemental space. I like to work in a style where I am in the situation with you. Imagine you're knee deep in the mud, the mud being your thoughts, feelings and emotions weighing you down. Now rather than me being on the edge of this mud, shouting directions and advice, I would be alongside you. Knee deep in the mud by your side as we attempt to navigate this space together.

Feel free to message me about any questions you may have about therapy. Thank you for taking the time to read through my profile and I look forward to potentially working with you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
