About me

Clients who often see me are mums who struggle with low mood, anxiety or generally feeling lost in life. If you're tired of living like this, you're in the right place.

Therapy sessions with me, whether online or in person, give you space to organise your thoughts, release your feelings, work out what is keeping you stuck in this place, and discover what you need to move forward.

In our sessions, I sit with you as a professional and also as a mum of young children who knows the depths that you can sink to. In life, we're often trying to hold everything, hold everyone else and contain our emotions so we can just keep going and that is so hard to maintain.  Therapy with me lets you offload these things that are weighing on your shoulders.

How do I get started?

If you're seeking therapy for low mood, symptoms of depression or anxiety, at any stage of your journey in motherhood, you can book a free 15 min call so you can see if I'm the right person for you. If these free 15 minute calls aren't for you however, you can book straight on to your first 50 minute session.

Both of these can be booked online, here: https://calendly.com/clairejuddtherapy

I also offer Postnatal Enrichment Sessions, which are perfect for you if you're in that postnatal period and wondering what is 'normal', want to talk to someone about any scary or intrusive thoughts you're having or would like to talk through your birth experience in a one off session. This can also be booked online at the above link.

What is counselling like with you?

My practice is relationally based and I integrate different types of counselling to tailor our sessions to you. You are the expert in your own life and I don't tell you what to do, instead, I offer you a calm and nurturing space where we explore what you're experiencing together, at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Sometimes we might look at things from different perspectives, such as a psychodynamic approach or with a compassion focused lens, other times we might explore tools and strategies that you might use in everyday life.

Ultimately, you are always in control and the sessions are a space for you to feel heard.

Get in touch

I know it can feel daunting when contacting a counsellor, it's a very personal process. If now feels like the right time for you, I welcome any questions via email or you can go straight to my booking page for a free 15 minute call or to book your first session.

If you're postnatal (those early years of motherhood!) you might also find it helpful to look me up on instagram (@thepostnatalcounsellor).

I'm here when you're ready.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
